Fifth Grade Jobs and Responsibilities
Fifth Grade Jobs and Responsibilities are privileges that students earn throughout the school year. These Jobs and Responsibilities promote team work, independence, dependability, responsibility, and trustworthiness.
School Safety Patrol
School Safety Patrol students are asked to arrive to school by 7:30 each morning. They will be assigned a grade level of students, for which they will be responsible for the month. School Safety Patrol students will also assist in dismissal procedures at the end of the school day.
Color Guard
Color Guard students are asked to arrive to school by 7:30 each morning. They are in charge of raising the flag each morning, as well as leading the school in the Pledge of Allegiance on the intercom each day. In the afternoon, the Color Guard students will take down, fold, and store the flag. Color Guard students also participate in special school-wide assemblies.
Recycling Crew
Recycling Crew students are asked to arrive to school by 7:30 each Friday. They are in charge of emptying the recycling bins throughout the entire school.
Student Council
Student Council students are peer leaders. They are involved in decision-making when it comes to community service, after-school activities, end-of-year activities, and much more.
School Store
School Store students are in charge of selecting, organizing, pricing, and selling merchandise to raise money for fifth grade activities. Jobs include: cashiers, grade-level escorts, baggers, bankers, and sales people.
Kindergarten Helper
Kindergarten Helpers assist kindergarteners each afternoon during dismissal. Responsibilities include: helping with homework folders, zipping jackets, putting up chairs, packing backpacks, making sure kindergarteners arrive to the appropriate dismissal lines, and much more.
